One of the most significant challenges to a restaurant remodeling project is minimizing the disruption to the business’s operations.
Why A Restaurant Remodel?
There are many reasons why business owners would want to remodel. Time passes and what was popular and in style decades ago often becomes outdated and looks tired just a few years later.
At the same time, commercial properties get a great deal more use and abuse than do residential properties. They see much more foot traffic over the carpet and tile. The restrooms are utilized by hundreds of people a day instead of the one or two that might use a bathroom in a home. The sheer volume of use requires more frequent updates than you might expect in a home.
Last but not least, many franchises require somewhat frequent updates to the style and look of a business. When you operate as part of a larger corporation or a chain, there are expectations for how the business should look and be maintained.
The Details of Our St. George First Watch Restaurant Remodel
You are missing out if you haven’t been to First Watch in St. George, Utah yet. It’s a spectacular place for an omelet, french toast, home fires, and coffee. They also serve a spectacular lunch and are a must-visit for a weekend brunch.
The food is great and the coffee is unbeatable.
While the food is spectacular and the main attraction at First Watch, the ambiance is also a part of the whole dining experience. And here at the St. George First Watch the time had come to repaint, and redecorate, and the bathrooms needed an update.
We took on the project, as we have with numerous other commercial remodeling projects with keeping the impact on the business at a minimum.
Late Night Restaurant Remodeling
First Watch does breakfast and brunch. Luckily, this means they are closed for the day at a relatively early 2pm in the afternoon.
So for several weeks, our team would load in as soon as the doors closed at 2pm and would work through the night and well into the early morning hours.
And when our work for the night was through, we’d clean up after ourselves and get the restaurant ready for the early morning breakfast crew who would walk through the doors at 4am.
It meant keeping the workspace tidy and extra hours spent cleaning up each and every day but that’s what it takes to keep the impact on business to a minimum.
While renovation and restorations are often a necessity, they don’t have to be crippling to a business owner.
With the right contractor, like Sunstar you can rest assured that the impact on your bottom line will be as minimal as possible.
We can either rush the job through from start to finish and have your business back up and running with just a few weeks of downtime if you have the ability to close operations or move offsite for a short time. Or we can work with you and your staff to renovate and remodel during off hours.
